This is my living room. One project we hope to make happen this spring is to install French doors out to the back garden, where the Armoire is now positioned. Not sure where to move the armoire!
The sofa was my grandmother's, from the 1920's. It needs rebuilding and re-upholstered badly; in the meantime we've hidden it with a velvet cover from Pottery Barn. Once you sit down, you feel the springs poking into your back! That's not the worst thing, however--we all try to avoid to avoid sitting on it because the cover immediately becomes rumpled and no-one wants to have to put it back. That's another spring project: I want to have it upholstered in white matelasse. It's dangerous, I know. I don't have small children but we do drink alot of red wine . . . .
My husband has already ordered a cord of wood and is arranging to have the chimney swept, so we can have fires throughout the Christmas holiday.

How beautiful. Your move back to Cape Cod touches the depths of my soul. That's where my roots were planted also. Keep me posted on your move. I wish you joy and happiness this season.
